Local Councillors Vote to Update the Local Plan
Wandsworth Council has recently approved significant changes to its Local Plan, mandating that developers include 50% affordable housing in all new residential projects. Simon Hogg, Leader of Wandsworth Council, stated:“Creating a fairer and more compassionate borough requires us to tackle inequality in housing. We are dedicated to building new council homes for local families through our Homes for Wandsworth Programme. However, collaboration with developers is essential; they must also contribute by providing new social rented homes as part of their projects in Wandsworth. Increasing the number of social homes owned and managed by the council will help families move off waiting lists and into secure housing.”
