The property is unique in character and is situated on a hill, therefore it was important to retain the character of the property and character of the street. Furthermore, it was important to address the neighbours right to light and outlook. 4D Planning produced the drawings and designed the extensions to increase the habitable space of the house while preserving the special character of the house in context with the neighbouring properties while protecting the amenity of the adjacent properties. Planning permission was granted by Barnet Council following intensive discussions relating to the precedent and the size of the extensions.
